i think the reason is bc back then it was all about the sound of the metal so if u hear a 10 min sound you will notice there are more metal (sound) then there is singing.

anyways back what i was about to do. here is a example(btw kids i love meat loaf : ) Oh and yes his songs are really long but the videos has been cut down so youtube will like bc i have seen him sing live and they are very long @.@) so here is a live one to give u :p

(btw meat loaf is a type of fantasy singer but with love and rock..like this one its about him being ugly but she loves him anyways and she cures him (reminds me of a vampire) wow i cant find it TT__TT oh well im sur eu guys dont care but if u do look him up ^_^
